Under the National Police Service (NPS) and applicable laws (e.g. the National Police Service Act, 2011),  private persons or organizations can apply for hire of police officers — including armed officers — for private use when certain conditions apply (private property protection, reasonable threat, public-interest situations.

Procedure to apply for police hire

To apply for police hire services, submit a *written application * to the relevant local police station’s Officer Commanding Station (OCS).
